Use a free plan or the smallest suitable package where available. Check compatibility and the provider's acceptable-use policy first.
Short practical explainers to help you compare the products in this directory.
Residential proxies use IP addresses associated with consumer internet connections. Datacenter proxies use IP space hosted in data-center infrastructure. Residential networks may fit tasks where network origin or geographic coverage matters; datacenter options are often considered for predictable infrastructure and lower-cost workloads. Neither type guarantees access to a particular website.
Static ISP products are designed to keep an IP address consistent for a session or longer workflow. Rotating residential products draw from a pool and change IPs according to the provider's rotation or session settings. Check whether sticky sessions, location targeting and bandwidth limits match your actual use.
Read the billing unit (per IP, per GB or subscription), renewal cycle, minimum purchase, location coverage, authentication method, protocol support, session controls, concurrency limits, refund policy and acceptable-use rules. Confirm the exact terms on the checkout page before paying.
Free proxies can be useful for learning and limited testing, but understand who operates them. Unknown public lists may be unreliable or expose traffic to an untrusted operator. Prefer a clearly identified provider, read its privacy and acceptable-use terms, avoid sending sensitive information through a proxy you do not trust, and remember that shared IPs may be blocked.
Some providers charge per IP, others per gigabyte, subscription, port or dedicated subnet. Prices may also vary by location, exclusivity, bandwidth, session options and purchase volume. Compare the total cost for the same workload rather than comparing unit prices that measure different things.
No. A proxy changes the network path and the IP address visible to a destination, but it does not automatically encrypt every app, prevent browser fingerprinting, protect account credentials or make activity lawful. Use services responsibly and follow the laws and website terms that apply to your use.
